The company also offers the NuRide and Guaranteed Ride Home programs through Long Island Transportation Management (LITM). Shuttle service is provided from the local train station to the office. Broadridge associates have also been educated though a Lunch 'n Learn session with LITM. Clever Devices 
Clever Devices (Plainview), America’s leader in transit technology, is committed to sustainable transportation solutions. The company offers scalable, modular and cutting-edge solutions based on an understanding of how transit systems operate in the real world. Clever Devices encourages employees to carpool to work by offering VIP parking spaces, and provides lunch to employees on Air Quality Action Days to ensure that they can stay inside instead of contributing to poor air quality.
CommuterLink 
CommuterLink, New York City’s Alternative Transportation Management Organization, provides a broad range of free services to businesses and commuters in the five boroughs, including online ridematching for car and vanpoolers, door-to-door transit itineraries, customized Commuter Benefits programs including grants for companies promoting alternate transportation and much more. In addition to assisting NYC businesses with clean air transportation alternatives, CommuterLink works with its own employees to make sure they practice what they preach. They have a Bike-to-Work program where they ensure employees have a safe place to keep their bikes. CommuterLink provides company-paid transit benefits and has a formal telework program. "We encourage employees to leave their cars home everyday, and especially on Air Quality Action Days," says John Galgano, CommuterLink President. "We also take full advantage of the excellent transit services available to us in the city whenever we have to go to meetings or events."
IBM 
IBM East Fishkill is a manufacturing plant for IBM, a globally integrated enterprise that targets the intersection of technology and effective business. Drawing upon the world's leading systems, software, services and research capabilities, the company seeks to be a partner in its clients' success by enabling their own capacity for distinctive innovation. They have initiated "IBMRides," an internal carpool matching service, and they also work with NuRide, an incentive-based rideshare network. The company offers preferred parking spaces for those who carpool, and ensured that employees were educated on clean air actions through a "Lunch 'n Learn," where a Clean Air NY representative presented to the group at lunchtime.
"We are asking our employees to consider sharing rides with coworkers to help save the environment and save dollars individually as well. Since July 2008, the IBM East Fishkill ride share program has logged savings in excess of 3000 miles per week. As part of the carpool program, riders are offered preferred parking and are enrolled in our emergency ride home program. There are even intangible benefits; personal time to sleep, read, think, work and the most important intangible benefit is the new friends made and the camaraderie shared each day."
Jewish Home Lifecare 
Jewish Home Lifecare offers long term care, adult day care, home health care, health services, and social and community services at its four divisions located throughout the New York area. As a Clean Air NY Champion, it has a bi-annual Leave Your Car at Home Day, and offers pre-tax commuter transit benefits. The company also participates in NuRide's incentive-based rideshare network to encourage employees to carpool. Jewish Home Lifecare is dedicated to pursuing environmental sustainability and is proud to be recognized as a Clean Air Champion. Local 300 Flushing Branch
Local 300 (Flushing Branch) is a 2008 regional Commuter Choice Award winner for its efforts in promoting clean air incentives. Local 300 is the largest local of the national Postal Mailhandlers Union, and represents about 7,000 persons working in the tri-state area. The members of the Mailhandlers Union primarily move the mail within the postal facilities, but they also are concerned about the effect of transportation in the ecological environment. The union promotes incentives to reduce pollution in the environment, such as employees pre-tax benefits in its partnership with the local transportation management organization CommuterLink. CommuterLink has held transpotation days at the union's facilities in order to arrange programs to ease employees' commutes while reducing air pollution and saving employees money.
Nassau County 
The County of Nassau, located on Long Island, New York, is home to over 1.3 million residents and encompasses nearly 300 square miles. Under the leadership of Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi, the Healthy Nassau 'Green Your Commute' program actively promotes mass transit, ridesharing and a 4-day work week among its over 9,000 employees. As of June 2009, 123 employees had signed up for a 4-day work week which is anticipated to cut out 12,792 trips per year. With an average trip of 12 miles, that's more than 153,504 miles of travel reduced each year! In addition, Nassau County offers TransitChek, a program for employees to use pre-tax dollars for their mass transit expenses. Nassau County is also proud to host commuter fairs for employees to promote ridesharing and to provide cars for employees that use mass transit but need to get between Nassau County worksites. "Employees are looking to their employers for help in containing the high cost of commuting, and Nassau County is leading by example," said County Executive Suozzi. "The Healthy Nassau 'Green Your Commute' program is helping employees to save money while improving air quality and reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. This program would not be possible without a strong partnership with Clean Air NY and Long Island Transportation Management."
New York Methodist Hospital 
New York Methodist Hospital (Brooklyn) is a voluntary non-profit hospital with a mission of providing excellent healthcare services in a compassionate and humane manner to the people who live and work in Brooklyn and its surrounding areas. The hospital convinced over 100 employees who drove to work to switch to mass transit by providing free metro cards. It also alerts hundreds of employees on Air Quality Action Days, so that they may make appropriate clean air travel choices and attempt to limit time spent outside. New York Methodist Hospital has also conducted several “green” transportation days and educated employees about clean air actions in its newsletter. "As a healthcare institution, we understand the importance of helping our employees and our community to understand the relationship between our environment and good health in ways that positively impact lifestyles," says Dennis Buchanan, vice president for human resources.
Nokia Inc. 
Nokia is the world's number one manufacturer of mobile devices by market share and a leader in the converging Internet and communications industries. Nokia reduces the number of people that drive to work by providing resources for employees to telecommute and works with MetroPool and other Westchester companies in their corridor to implement a carpool matching service. Employees also stay informed about Clean Air NY through a series of on-site seminars. "Nokia is pleased to be a part of not just a great organization, but also a great initiative to make the air we breathe clean and healthy," says Jose Conejos, head of Human Resources, Nokia North America. "Nokia continues to be at the forefront of making environmentally friendly choices, and incorporating 'green thinking' into everything we do. Our partnership with Clean Air NY is just another way we are doing our part and demonstrating how we as a community can make a difference, making the planet a cleaner, greener and better place to live."
Northern Westchester Hospital 
Northern Westchester Hospital (Mount Kisco) is a 233-bed facility serving northern Westchester, Putnam and southern Dutchess Counties in New York and parts of Fairfield County, Connecticut since 1916. NWH has long been recognized as one of the region's premier healthcare providers for its expertise, technology and humanity. The hospital works with MetroPool to implement NuRide, a rideshare network, and created the "Perfect 20/20 Commute" Campaign, an initiative to increase participation in the ridesharing program. Northern Westchester Hospital offered incentives, provided information and hosted outreach events for employees, resulting in over 200 employee participants in the NuRide program. Other Northern Westchester Hospital programs include a $100 incentive for employees to walk to work, a guaranteed ride home for carpoolers and transit riders and a VIP parking lot for those who carpool to work.
SH&E, an ICF International Company 
SH&E is the leading consulting firm dedicated exclusively to the air transportation industry. The firm’s headquarters are based in New York City and additional offices are located in Boston, Washington DC, Chicago and London, UK. SH&E’s parent company, ICF International, is a global consulting firm providing advisory services and technology solutions in the energy, climate change and environment markets, as well as in transportation, social programs, health, defense and emergency management. Locally, SH&E has shown their dedication to cleaner air in New York by increasing the employee transit subsidy from $32 to $50, which encourages employees to use mass transit. SH&E also educated employees on actions they can take to improve air quality during a “Lunch ‘n Learn” session.
United Nations Federal Credit Union 
United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) headquartered in Long Island City, NY is a non-profit, cooperative financial institution. As a CommuterLink partner, UNFCU is promoting public transportation and informing employees about the various mass transit alternatives available in the Tri-state area. Specifically, UNFCU participated in CommuterLink’s "Dollar for Dollar" Transit Subsidy matching program. Beyond this, UNFCU also offers a Commuter Flexible Spending Account which allows employees to pay for their mass transit commute with pre-tax dollars. Making a positive impact on environmental preservation and resource conservation is a UNFCU Board mandate. UNFCU, whose company Green Team is actively developing strategies for increasing environmental awareness and adopting greener business practices at the institution, also provides employees with transit itineraries and carpool suggestions and includes information about Clean Air NY in its staff orientation packets. “Being named a Clean Air NY Champion gives UNFCU even more impetus to develop ways to contribute to protecting the environment,” says Anita Donnelly, vice president of Human Resources at UNFCU. “Our goal is to conduct business as a good citizen of the world and it is great to be recognized as an innovator, responding to employee needs.”
Verizon
Verizon (White Plains & Valhalla) is a global leader in delivering broadband and other wireless and wireline communications services to mass market, business, government and wholesale customers. The company offers employees an internal carpool matching service through their Commuter Service Program, and works with NuRide’s rideshare network to reinforce carpools. It also recently began a guaranteed ride home program for employees who carpool, vanpool or use mass transit to get to work.
Wales-Darby, Inc. 
Wales-Darby, Inc. (Islandia) is dedicated to providing the highest caliber of sales, engineering, customer service and training to the plumbing and HVAC industries in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas. The company has implemented NuRide, a rideshare network that offers incentives for carpools, vanpools, biking and walking to work. Wales-Darby also announces Air Quality Action Days and provides weekly lunch 'n learn events during the Air Quality Action season so that employees avoid making trips for lunch.
Winthrop-University Hospital 
Winthrop-University Hospital (Mineola, NY) is a 591-bed teaching hospital. A major regional healthcare resource, the hospital has been a leading healthcare provider for more than a century, committed to the integrity, dignity and well-being of every individual. In order to reduce the number of cars on the road and reduce air pollution, Winthrop has offered informational conferences for employees in collaboration with the Long Island Transportation Management (LITM); established a guaranteed ride home program through the LITM, which matches employees for carpooling and ensuring that no registered car-pooler will ever be left stranded without a ride; established and promoted a pre-tax transit benefit program for employees through Transit Center, which is enabling employees to save money by paying for public transportation with pre-tax dollars; and applied for a grant through LITM, which will enable the Hospital to further develop, promote and implement its innovative commuter incentive program. "Winthrop employs more than 5,000 men and women," says George P. Rainer, Vice President, Human Resources at Winthrop, "and we are committed to supporting them in their transportation needs while also helping to improve the environment."
WSPT 
WSPT (Bronx) specializes in the treatment of all orthopedic and sports conditions. It is also a wellness center and the Bronx’s leader in Aquatic therapy. It has a newly implemented pre-tax transit benefit, as well as a strong relationship with local transportation management organization CommuterLink. CommuterLink held a Transportation Day at the facility to promote "green" transportation alternatives. WSPT also displays Air Quality Action Day alerts in its lobby in order to educate all customers. “Every effort has been made to contribute to our community’s air quality, from advocating that bicycle parking be installed in our office complex, to encouraging employees to bike to work and allowing them to house their bikes within the office space,” says Marketing Director Denise Kremmer. WSPT also considered its carbon footprint when constructing a new 11,000 square foot facility. Measures were taken to reduce their energy consumption wherever possible. Only 4 out of 22 pieces of equipment in their cardio gym are powered by electricity. Overhead lights are on motion sensors to reduce energy consumption even throughout the business day. Heating and Air conditioning are turned off early, making use of the double-paned glass windows that envelope the office space to preserve the room temperature. Kremmer says, “By reducing our energy consumption, we reduce our CO2 emissions. We believe we are making a small but valuable contribution to the quality of the air in NY and more importantly, hope to set an example for other businesses opening in our community.”
